Privacy Policy

Plansy is a group event planning app. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect what's needed to run the app, we don't sell your data, and you can delete your account — and everything in it — at any time, right inside the app.

Information we collect

Account info — your phone number (used for sign-in codes), or your name and email if you sign in with Apple, plus the display name and profile photo you choose.
Content you create — events, polls and votes, chat messages, photos and videos you add to an event album, checklists, schedules, expenses, and locations you type in.
Payment handles (optional) — usernames you choose to share (Venmo, PayPal.Me, Cash App) so groupmates can pay you back. We never collect bank or card numbers.
Purchase status — if you subscribe to Plansy Pro, Apple processes the payment and we receive your subscription status (not your payment details) via our subscription partner, RevenueCat.
Device info — a push notification token if you enable notifications, and basic diagnostics needed to keep the app working.

Guest mode

You can join events from an invite link without creating an account. Guest participation (votes, messages, uploads) is stored under a temporary guest identity. If you later verify your account, your guest activity is merged into it.

How we use information

To provide the app: syncing your events, polls, chat, albums, and expenses with your group in real time.
To send sign-in codes and, if enabled, push notifications about activity in your events.
To process and honor your Plansy Pro subscription.
To keep the community safe: reviewing content that users report and enforcing blocks.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not show ads.

Who can see your content

Content you add to an event is visible to the members of that event — that's the point of Plansy. It is not public. Our database enforces per-event access rules so only members of an event can read its data.

Service providers

Supabase — hosts our database, file storage, and authentication.
Apple — processes App Store payments and sign-in with Apple.
RevenueCat — validates subscription receipts and manages subscription status.
Expo — delivers push notifications.

Each provider receives only what it needs to perform its service.

Reporting and blocking

You can report any message or photo, and block any member, directly in the app (long-press the content). Reports are reviewed, and content that violates our Terms may be removed and its author banned.

Data retention & deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. You can permanently delete your account in the app (Profile → Delete account). This immediately deletes your profile, the events you host, your memberships, messages, photos, votes, and expenses. You can also email us to request deletion.

Children

Plansy is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit, access is controlled by row-level security rules, and subscription entitlements are verified server-side. No system is perfectly secure, but we design with least-access in mind.

Changes

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the date above and note the change in the app.
